Usually when they bring on a character that's from someones past, it is Trouble with a capitol T!
You could also just tell from the look on her face when she and Devon's cousin first walked in, and then again when Devon's cousin introduced her to Neil, that she was up to something!.
My thoughts were that maybe Devon's precious mommy sent her there for something, I'm not sure just what though!.
