  • No but I think its quite good from experience using it at a friends. However I think it is a bit overpriced as you can only record the thing that you are watching and one other programme other than than its pretty good as its easily to set.

Brilliant! I was at the hospital with my son last week. I know that tv isnt the be all and end all, but it was nice not to miss Lost. Plus you can almost guarantee that if theres a couple of decent films on over Easter theyll be different channels at the same time, so you 'tape' one and watch one.

    Brilliant.

The best thing is the series link for the hard drive.
You can set it to record a programme and hit the green series link and it searches and stores every episode and records them automatically.

Also theres now sky anytime and this allows you to see a programme from the anytime list by clicking on that and if you prees record it is instantly on your sky programmer,so you can view it or recrd it to disc or leave it on the hard drive for later viewing.

I have it so that i can grab a whole series and then put that series on recordable discs and edit out the adverts.

Lost has been a good example of this.

I wouldnt be without it now.
    so i love it.
also it frees up your life in the real world as you arent so bothered when people turn up or the phone rings or your off to the loo or kitchen and kettle.
You just hit the pause and restart from that point or even rewind the programme.

You can record two programmes at the same time too,it even lets you know when you have a clash and gives you the option on screen to delete one.
If you watch one side you are recording it will record another channel too.so there you have two recordings going onto your hard drive.
You can buy one of two gig size boxes to have.
call sky and discuss the options or just go online to sky.com and see whats on offer.
    You wont regret it.
The only down side is that sometimes you feel its 700 channels of rubbish instead of 5 or more. They do repeat many programmes, but that has its advantages too.

The really annoying thing that i have found with sky is the A to Z search option in the programme guide.
It only allows one single letter so you have to page down and down to find your desired search.
I love the fact you can search days listings and go 24hrs on and on for a week or more to search next weekends listings is great when your going away.

it's great especially the series link feature never miss an episode of my favourite shows

brilliant could not live without it now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, and it is use full as it saves the need for video/dvd recorders as you can record programes on it. Glad I had it put in.

it's amazing, worth every penny and I'm really someone who avoids paying out for stuff like that.

You can pause and rewind live tv and record everything you want too. You can even record 2 different programmes at the same time (although you can't then watch a third at the same time). This is great when you're out and two programmes clash.

Also you can set i to record every single programme of its type, so for example if you like Eastenders you can click one button which will ensure that every single screening of that is recorded. It means that you don't get that annoying feeling when you suddenly remember that you forgot to record your fave prog.

The pause and rewind thing is great too. I have ordinary Sky upstairs and I really miss not being able to use those features when I'm watching tv in bed.

It also means that you can watch 2 different channels if you have it in more than one place in the house.

For £10 a month, I really think it's worth it.

I love it , my kids love it !! best thing since sliced bread !! wouldn't be without it.

Have had it for 18 months now after daughter bought it for us as a Christmas pressie. Always thought it was unnecessary prior to getting it but it's brilliant and wouldn't be without it. Series link is fantastic and the whole thing is so easy to use.
If you want to record 2 programmes at the same time you can do it but either have to have TV off or be watching one of them, when you are recording one programme you can watch whatever you like.
Pause, rewind and FF is great as well if you are watching something recorded or live and the phone rings you can answer it and not miss anything.
I know it's a bit pricey but very well worth it.

There's really only one thing I hate about it - you can't set it to automatically change channels when you've got it on reminder. It's only annoying now because my magic eye doesn't work so it means I've got to go downstairs to change over the channels now.

No I haven't Your Majesty, have you? can I watch yours?? ;)

best thing i hve bought for ages....................

I love, love, love my sky+, I hate sky the company but I love my sky+! lol

Only problem is I leave the house less now I can record everything I want to watch than I did before!

I don't have sky plus but I have a similar box of my own which has the same features. It's a good investment.

Wouldn't be without mine now !!

Its the best change over i ever made

i love it, i work shifts so it make's my life easier, i even signed up through a friend and got the box free.

the only thing i don't like is that the tv guide goes right back to BBC 1 everytime i press back up, i'd love it to wait where i was in the tv guide. I can never remember what i was looking for, and usually it about channel 685

some people saying that when you are recording two shows at the same time, you either have to have the telly off or be watching one of them... thats rubbish.

While you are recording two shows at the same time, you can watch a third show that you have previously recorded.

If you're not sure about buying one... just go buy one! its really good :-)

I think everyone's given a pretty comprehensive summary of features but there's one I'd like to add or clarify.

If you're recording two programmes at the same time, you needn't necessarily also be watching one of them. You can instead be watching something you've already recorded!
This is also really good when I'm recording cooking for me and football for hubby but neither of us can agree which one to watch whilst it's recording. We just watch a previously recorded programme that we haven't caught up on yet.

I'm really critical about this kind of thing but having got Sky HD in Sept 07 (which includes Sky+), I wouldn't be without it now. As compared to Freeview, my TV has freeview built in but I always use Sky instead. Plus you can't record freeview unless you've got a freeview hard drive (or a sky+ hardrive).

I think its quite good! I got it a year or two ago and loved it! It means I can pause or fast forword it and vise-virsa to what I want!

Best invention ever!! Well maybe not ever, but its a damn good one! I can't imagine not having it now!#

    Why? Dont you like it???

absolute rubbish whats the point bascilly the same channels as freeview oh no wait i got all those telyshopping ones goody oh i no ill pause it while i go for a wee no its rubbish might as well get freeview..
