Yeah, it's mainly about popularity. My friend was trying out to become like President of the class, but she lost by some popular cheerleader. I really think it's lame. I don't watch the show anymore it gets boring every year!!!

basically they are showing u that they can take any old Joe Schmo off the street and make them be a famous singing star - yeh some of them have good singing voices
i cant sing one bit - but a good producer can make me sound like a have a voice like Whitney Houston

OMG, so the damn kid forgot the words one week? Give the freakin kid a break. Why is that so bad? I could see if he had a crapola voice and forgot the words. Then I would say yeah, he deserves to get the boot. But for crying out loud, the kid has probably the best vocals this season. So big whoop...he forgot the words. And as for it being a popularity contest...it is when the contestant that CAN'T sing, but does not get eliminated stays, that it is a popularity contest. For example, Kristy. She sucks, can't sing and has hacked every song for the past 3 weeks, yet she stays. Why? Is it because she is being voted for her looks rather than her talent? Give me a break. The kid can sing so leave him alone. Thank God we don't all get chastised for forgetting the words to something. There'd be an awful lot of crosses we'd be getting nailed to.

Leave David Archuleta alone. He's a good singer. The one that can't sing is the short girl and she hasn't even been in the bottem three. I'd call that a popularity contest.
