LOST ! I am concerned with the fact they have not elaborated on the black smoke.!
Question: They have not bothered to mention why we can hear Jacob but we cannot see him. EXPLAIN THAT!

The fact that they haven't really addressed some answers was upsetting me too, but look at it this way.
Since there's a set ending for the series now, we'll be getting answers more often. I wish I could remember where I'd read it, but I did read that before the deadline was set, the producers didn't know how long to prolong the stories because they didn't know how long the show would last. Now that there's an ending, they can move the stories along. So as far as answers go, I'm sure we'll start to get them very soon. Especially since they had to cut three episodes because of the writers strike.
As far as Jacob goes, we HAVE been able to see him. It's been in shadows and only for a split second, but he's made himself visible. There are actually pictures available on the internet. You should look it up.
i guess we just have to wait like usual..
i read a podcast transcript with the writers saying that they wont dwell much on the monster or jacob this season, just tiny tiny bits here and there. this season is more about hope of rescue, flashforwards, and the freighter. the final two season are going to be absolutely incredible. theres going to be so much explained, we'll be complaining that they're showing too much!
and i think the visions everyone has on the island (kates horse, mr eko seeing his brother) are conjured up by the smoke monster. its a security system that can see into your mind and copies all your memories (ie. when the monster appeared to be "taking photos" of juliet when her and kate were handcuffed together).
when mr eko saw his brother and spoke to him, yemi (eko's brother) said, "You speak to me as if I am your brother" implying that his appearance is Yemi but he is not (because he's really the smoke monster!).
my theory on the black smoke is that it shows the past of whoever looks into it
if you remember the episode when Mr. Eko looks into it you will understand
and i still do not know about jacob one but
except if you pause one the the stations orientation videos at the right exact spot it says " god loved jacob as he loved you" or he loves instead of loved i cant remember
