Is there any reason only caucasian men get to be The Bachelor?!

Question: i was thinking about that too when i was watching the bachelor special.
i hope abc doesn't think men of color can't be sexy or desirable.
i've also notice that on past seasons of the bachelor, there have only been 1 or 2 black women per season and they are voted off in the first or second rounds.
mmmhmm. i wonder why that is??

hmm good question! i just noticed that, i dont know. maybe other guys from other nationalities dont try out or something

It is interesting that there hasn't been a bachelor from a different background. I think Disney, who owns ABC (the network who airs The Bachelor), is ultra conservative. But I'm sure there are many African or Asian American men who are attractive and successful and will still attract ratings. Wake up Disney!

I sure hope not! That would be terrible, what I think/hope is that not many men of other races tried out.

No maybe they think that is covered in Flavor of Love!

Just kidding. I hate that show.

i have no idea.. good question! i never realized that but i think it is dumb!

maybe no other men try out. only whites. so ummm who cares? prob all the other nationalitys can get girls. idk

I've noticed that as well. It seems that the group the producers/advertisers are trying to reach is Caucasian females. I suppose they believe having a cauc man in the lead role is the way to go. Good example of white privilege in my opinion.

Because there aren't any white woman left their all dating black guys so that got to find them some how.

Black girl.

Cuz we're the **** girl!!!!
Just joking...
...Maybe because the industry is owned by Jewish-Caucasion men.

I think ( this is me i could be wrong ) that it shouldn't come as a shock to you, must shows have only caucasian men and women as stars, they can have some african american people around but in supporting roles and if we talk hispanic or asian it is even worse, i do not know what is wrong with networks nowadays, but that's the way they do it; you can see hispanic, asian and of course african american people on a regular basis in british television, i guess they think that if a show has an all caucasian cast people will watch it more, shame on them!, there was a joke about it, when you wanted to imply that something was really difficult or weird you would say it was even more difficult than spotting an african american person in friends, shame on them

i dont think any major network would cast a black man searching for love on a show for a few reasons. one they would assume that if a black man is looking for a black woman then he would end of with a drama filled show (i.e. flavor of love). it wouldnt be taken seriously nor would the people on it. second i think the network would be afraid the black wouldnt choose a black woman. its sad but true. though we all know a black man could be the bachelor because there are a lot of successful black men out there, i just dont think a major network like ABC would go for it. how many shows on ABC have black casts? none. so they leave that buffoonery to VH1 and Flavor Flav
