Good money. Producers create these shows because they believe the consumer would like to see in to the lives of these celebs. They then sell them to networks who in turn sell commercial slots based on demographics and viewership. The celeb usually makes sure they get a percentage of this.

I had read that MTV was paying $5K a day for the Surreal series.
And maybe because those people were "D" Lister's at best.
But I'm sure regular people off the street wouldn't get that amount.
