toni moved to ny to be near her ex husband so they can raise their child together. but in real life the actress left to do a new show b/c girlfriends had been cancelled but at the last minute it was picked up and renewed by the WB but when it comes back after the strike it's the final season.
She moved to new york so her baby could be close to Todd (father).
