Whats so good about home and away??!

Question: It has some great story lines and it's nice to see other soaps from other countries instead of boring ones we see in the UK like Eastenders!

I've been watching it since it started in the UK,....20 years ago ,...(i think!) and it's like one of our own!

In that time,....Sally Fletcher(Kate) and Alf Stewart(Ray) have been in it all that time!

Kate Ritchie(Sally) joined the soap when she was 7/8 years old and was in the first scene of the soap so she's already a legend of the show even though she's only 27/28 in real life!

I love H&A and will alway's watch it!

the storylines are a bit far fetched at times, but it's still good entertainment to watch them, and they have so many of them. I love Home and Away, have been watching it for years now. just can't miss it, can't even properly explain why. It's very easy to get addicted to any soap. it's just the one I got attached to.

And of course like most soaps, there is never a shortage of good looking guys, they are australian so they are tanned. and most of the guys on that show have been quite hot.

It keeps it real but also has a nice fun touch to it. I like how the actors are normal looking people for the most part. They have dealt with gangs, cults and other real issues and done a good job. Not really into the fantasy adventures like US soaps. And not every character has to be a 10 or mean. They are normal people and they grow on you. Plus hot bods in swimsuits a lot helps, lol. They are a beach town. They know how to do romance.

I've watched it from the beginning, and it's very cosy and heartwarming most of the time. I like the fact that the youngsters are mostly portrayed as good kids; not like so many of the layabouts and thugs that are around today.

I love the scenery too; especially on a rainy, English winter's evening! Long may it continue. I do wish Sally wasn't leaving, though, because she's a part of the furniture, so to speak.

I'm so happy that's still on, I used to absolutely love that show. But the vague channel that used to carry it stopped carrying it. Sooooo, what, 20 years ago? I used to like the show because I could identify with all the teen angst of the kids growing up in the family. Being a teenager and all. I don't know if I'd watch it now, probably, for nostalgic reasons.
