What if immigrants take the writers jobs?!

Question: what if some of the immagants that can write really well and have interesting story lines get hired by producers to write the tv show to replace the writers on strike and the shows turn out to be a hit

Well, then there will be a show on tv interesting enough to watch on television for once. I would rather follow an interesting story line, regardless of immigrant who wrote it, than watch the same old mundane crap that is currently on tv.

Then we might get better shows to watch!

Actually, I heard a news story on the radio the other day that Telemundo is about to launch a bi-lingual late night show.

they cant they dont speak english !

It would make for some interesting writing, storytelling and entertainment, but it would be helpful if these immigrants learned to speak and write in English first.

Unless they sign up with the WGA, they CAN'T write for hollywood (including TV).

You must be a part of the guild in order to write. There is no way around it. Can you be a bagger at King Soopers and not be a part of their union? No you can't.

Unions make up all of hollywood and you can't get around them.

well Tiffany you are kind of misinformed.

many productions in Hollywood will hire writers that aren't part of the guild. a lot of shows have staffs that are half guild writers, half non-guild. examples are "The Ellen De Generes Show" where only half her staff are members of the guild and many daytime soaps have half and half staffs; many of the dialog writers are not guild writers.

also reality series typically do not employ guild writers, which is why American Idol, DWTS, and other shows can air during the strike.

Now during the strike if you write for a show and you are not a guild writer you can be banned from ever joining the guild.

Then the DVD's will all be bootlegs.
