omg I know ! It made me cry tonight, more so when Stan's wife was talking to him
I was sad.. What made it even worse (or better, I guess) was that he saved his partner's life. His partner just didn't get to thank him... :'(
You knew that Seth Green wouldn't make it through the whole episode without his corotid bursting open... At least Lexi was in there and he wasn't alone!

As for the artery guy, this is Denny all over again.
He now owns Lexie. She can never leave him. He almost died for her. I knew it was coming when she checked his compress but they had to make it as bloody as possible to make it a cliffhanger.
I hate cliffhangers.
But back to Stan, that was beautiful that he lived for others to the very end, and did everythong he could to save his friend and say good bye to his wife.
If they are able to save Stan it would be a miracle being as I thing he has a ruptured spine and severe internal bleeding. That is what the chief was not trying to say in so many words.
Besides, there are only Richard and Meredith available to perform a surgery. Everyone else is or will be in the OR.
Perhaps Hahn could work on Stan but then who works on his friend who has a heart problem.

Callie has a whole bunch of busted up people.

But I do see Meredith wanting to save him. It is in her dialog so far and in her character. Plus, she is in the van now.
