Question: has been more about the contestants pesonal lives than about the actual singing? i don't have a problem with the sob stories because everyone has had sadness in their lives ,but with all the recent stories about some of them has overshadowed the actual show anyone else agree with me ?

me and my friends were saying this the other day, most of the program is just about them saying 'oh i wish my dad was here to see me blah blah' and i know it must be hard but plenty of other people in this world have been through the same or worse. They should try and use x factor as a new beginning instead of revisiting the past.

I agree with you I have no objection to a sob story, but it has overshadowed the show.
Mind you to be honest half the contestants are that bad that they need their sob stories to stay on the show! lol
X-Factor knew this year was going to be tough introducing new people sacking louis ect and to be honest SCD really have pulled out all the stops to be competative with ratings.
They have a star studded cast Penny Lancaster (cow as she married MY man lol), Kelly and so on.
They have acts that well deserve the wooden spoon award so pull out sob story to make us watch more.
So yes agree 100% I am a die hard fan of X-Factor but slowly turning.
Its always about personal lives, thats why rhydian has been made out to be evil as he has no sudden death in the family or a near fatal illness.
Although Niki has managed to not mention her sob story over and over again but she has no need to say about the appliocation form being left from her dad when he died. As she has such a brilliant voice.
We won't vote differently because of a sob story so I really don't see why they need to mention them
can any of you sing a couple of notes ?? we've all got more sob stories between us than they ever will !
I agree with you -they're trying to sensationalise people and events which the rest of us take as normal day to day 'deal with it' stuff
