For some TV would be considered as " The Tree of Knowledge and Evil". Millions will agree that TV is a powerful teaching tool, through which, we learn about lands and peoples we may never visit. We “travel” to tropical jungles and polar ice caps, to mountain peaks , ocean depths and deserts. We watch news as it happens on the other side of the globe. We gain insight into politics, history, current events, and culture.It entertains, instructs, and even inspires.
On other hand,Television is neither wholesome nor educational, heavy viewing can cut into family time, hinder reading and academic performance in children, and may contribute to obesity. Some programs may contain scenes of violence,sex and Murder and are in very high demand. However, its been very difficult to prove that the violence on television causes crime and antisocial behavior.
So to answer your question,you need to ask ourselves ,"Does what you watch affect Your thinking in the way you want ?
In some ways it is good and in some it is bad.

watching too much can be bad for your eyes.
It depends upon how people use it.

television isn't good or bad, it just is. The way you use it, what you watch, how long you watch, what you put off doing so you can watch TV, is good or bad.
It is good and bad. It really depends on what you watch. For example, I don't watch too much t.v., I'm more for movies but as far as sitcoms go there are a couple shows I make time for such as The Office and 2.5 Men. I don't really care too much for reality shows. I watch the news every now and then.
