Answers: They moved it to Friday. Is that not stupid? There are HS football games (for real) and a million other things going on. The show is the best on TV (or 1 of the) and NBC sent it to Friday, a dooms day for TV)

Anybody know of the reason?

They originally didn't have it on Friday, precisely because of the fact that there were real hs football games that night. Unfortunately, however, it was getting killed in the ratings. In order to keep it going as a viable show, it needed to be aired on a night for which there was less pressure to perform in the ratings, thus it was moved to Fridays.
