Each soap wants to get more viewers, so.....?

why is the storyline given away in magazines, other tv programmes. Ok its just a programme, but myself Id prefer to watch, not knowing what exactly is going to happen.

Ive noticed that in one of the tv mags it tells you exactly what is going to happen. If they didnt do this so obviously it would surely make people more interested to watch the actual programme to see what does happen. It does spoil it at times. Ok they are only programmes, but I know if the storyline is revealed, I dont bother to watch.

Great question......In the "olden days" (before computers, VCRs and T-VOs) the fans were always kept guessing. Every Friday was a cliff hanger of some kind. Soaps were exciting back in the day. Now you got "spoilers" on Yahoo Answers that tell just about everything. The soap mags don't tell all, they usually just tease you to death......I'd rather be kept guessing and be surprised as I am watching the shows.
