Would I find family guy twice as funny if I was born in the USA and grew up in the 80's? Who the hell is Count Choculla and whats a Tony Danza for that matter?

Yeah you would because there are so many references to America television shows and commercials, and there are many things in there from the 70's and 80's
Go look on you tube, you could find many of the references there, but I doubt it will make the show any funnier to you; because it's one of those 'you would have had to be there' type of things.
