How do you get the best radio reception? (for FM radio)?!
Question: How do you get the best radio reception!? (for FM radio)!?
Answers:
Antenna and position in the building are the two things that most affect reception beyond the uncontrollable (like your receiver and the distance/strength of the station you want to listen to)!.
Make sure you've got the antenna extended about 1/4 of the total length, then move the radio and antenna around (most antennas are swivel-type)!. Now move the antenna out further and see if the signal gets better or worse!. Experiment with various lengths and positions in the house/room!. Make sure you step away from the radio each time as your body will affect the reception (true!)!.
When you find the right combination - you're there!. And don't forget to fine-tune the dial as it can shift slightly!.
If there's no built-in antenna, look on the back or side of the radio for a small set-screw!. Get a loop antenna at Radio Shack or just attach a long piece of wire to it!.
Almost anything metal will act as an antenna!. You really need one for the best reception!.
