Internet radio, what is the best set-up for having your own station?!
Question: It depends on many factors, however you should start with a free setup (free server software such as Icecast and SHOUTcast), then how many listeners are you going to allow at the same time, for a few users you can use your own internet conection, for more than 5 listeners you should consider a hosting service with a lot of bandwidth included
To learn more please use the following guides:

Set it up outside of the U.S. becuase if you do it here, you will get an invoice for every song you play over the air from BMI, Ascap or SeSac. Radio stations have to pay to play the music. They don't get it free. Forget the idea unless you have some time to spend in jail or you are rich so you can pay to play.
