Scratching Turntables...?!
Question: I have a jvc AL-A150 and i dont know if its safe to try and scratch with it, or if it would ruin the record or needle. Just curious... Thanks

Its not good for the record, but playing a record at all isn't good for it, that's why they get scratchy and lose their sound over time.
The neutral comment is right, don't try scratching unless it has that setting. Otherwise, you could break it.
Can you take it out of gear? In other words is there a neutral position that allows free travel back and forth. If not,don't do it.
If so, then you can scratch without destroying the gears and motor,but needles and records are considered spare parts in that business ;<)
