How do VHFand UHF radio wave usually travel from a transmitting antenna to a rec!
Question: In a straight line.
Answers: In a straight line.
through the ether
through your ears because there is nothing in there to stop them
Line of sight.
The simplest answer is in a direct line of site with slight bending similar to a light wave. Now to add to that the actual mechanism is a disturbance of the magnetic fields that permeate everything. They are what makes a compass work. Think of throwing a stone in the water and watching the ripples spread out. The transmitter is the stone, the magnetic fields are the water and it gets a whole lot more complicated when you add in hundreds of transmitters (Stones) with hundreds of frequencies (Lengths of the waves formed i.e. wavelength) and the thousands of other non intelligent things (interference) that disturb the magnetic fields that are natural to all planets and space.
