I went on one it was SO nice
we got to stop off in different country's
the ships would stop and people would swim in the water with wild dolphins!!!
the food is nice
some cruises you dress up on
you meet loads of new people
the rooms are nice as well
me and my family went on a cruise and we loved it
even my brother who hates ships/boats
well anything that can sink really lol
half the people on here are saying yes there boring
but they havent been on one most likely

We went on the Oriana (P & O line) from Southampton to celebrate a significant occasion, a couple of years ago!.
There is a lot going on aboard, all the time, and trips every time the boat docks!. We went for 10 days, visited the Island Of Elba (all one day), Barcelona (all one day), Gibralter (all one day), Rome (all one day) Cannes plus a trip to Port Grimaud (and a boat trip around the mini Venice) and other Towns around the area (all one day)!.
Swam and lazed, went to art lectures and quizzes, saw a Harry Potter film before its general release, a couple of cocktail parties, an Indian entertainment night with curry buffet, went dancing, went to the theatre, I went to a beauty talk and had a massage !.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!. the time flew by and the food was great - available 25 hours a day! The chocolate afternoon was amazing and so was the tour of the galleys!.
There were entertainments for the young set and discos!.
It was really just like a floating Town with trips laid on!. I'd go again any day but you do need to do your research and make sure it's the right ship, cruise line and destinations for your likes and dislikes!.
I don't understand the "tied to meals" comment - there were several restaurants from grand dining to a grill bar and a bistro; we could eat whenever we wanted in the smaller restaurants or have a meal brought to our cabin!. In the dining room we didn't encounter any one-upmanship people - just holiday makers who were friendly and chatty, on holiday from mostly pretty ordinary jobs (I worked in an hospital arranging discharge care for older people)Www@Enter-QA@Com

Yes its boring you are tied to meals with one up manship people and the crew will not let you take any of your own alcohol on board at all ,so that you have to buy their expensive booze!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

idk, I've never been on one !.!.!.I am not usually bored whatever I do or wherever I go!. I'd just roll with it and have fun!. But it wouldn't be my first choice!.!.I'd much fly somewhere and dive, hike!.!.!.!. explore,etc!.
