Where did EMO come from? Why would anyone bother?!

Its been around for about the past 4 years now
its a different style of goth/scene/dark kids
many people call themselves "emo" as like a stereotype, though others are referred as "emo" because they cut themselves.
A lot of their music is just screaming rock, and they of course always wear black and dark makeup [eyeliner, mascara]
I don't know why anyone would bother, its just another "group" like "popular people" "nerds" "skaters" "cheerleaders" and the list goes on

I wish my grass was EMO :)
Because they think it makes them cool when reality the style just makes the guys look like they're only half boy. The music is pretty crappy too.
