When I was younger, I used to be a huge rollercoaster fanatic. Whenever I'd go to an amusement park, I'd always have to go on the rides by myself because nobody else in my family liked thrill rides.

Well, this one time I was in line to go onto this new ride, which was extremely fast and high, and had like an 85 degree drop. Scary stuff! I was like 12 at the time, so I was real scared but still excited. When you're in the queue for the ride, you have to decide which row you want to ride in, so I chose a friendly looking couple to stand behind. While waiting in line, I asked them if they had been on the ride before, what it was like, and if it'd be okay if I sat with them during the ride cus I was pretty scared. They happily answered all my questions although I doubt that they wanted to, and agreed to let me sit next to them. They asked me if I was okay a few times during the ride, and afterwards I said thanks for helping me out and left. That's my story. :)

I went to a park and happened to talk to a homeless man who was sitting on a bench. He was a really nice old man and had a lot to say. He seemed quite intelligent and willing to talk.

the whole night....rashes

Yup, now !!

I'm fine with strangers here

Actually, in the past, not so much as while married, I did do that, coz I was trying not to be shy anymore, I did put myself purposely where there would be lots of strangers. It was exciting, though sometimes a terrible idea. Haven't done anything like that since marriage, unless you count waiting with a stranger who needed assistance with their vehicle. That was very long ago.

What do you mean?

lots of times. the experience is good, makes me feel like i am living.

I don't feel comfortable.

On many occasions. I did that. During long train journeys, we pick some friendship with some strangers. I remember one Reddy, who travelled with me from Delhi up to Warangal, when I was going to Chennai from Delhi, on my getting a message that my father expired of a heart attack. I was a young man and terribly up set with this bereavement. He, who came to know of it, was all compassion and love for me. I was in touch with him for quite some time after the journey. Well. Now I do not know about his whereabouts. Life is often compared to a train journey. How appropriate it is !

yup on the train home the other night.
lol. i think he was drunk. but still he was funny.

I sure have!

Most every time was quite pleasant. Most of these times were on travels.
Sometimes it was working in hospitality, sometimes just at the post office or grocery store.

One man outside a rodeo sent his daughter to look me up, so the daughter and I could be friends. After not having a same schedule, we finally could get together and she'd moved right across the street.

I've had so many positive experiences. People are basically good.

I was able to help a homeless man get connected to veteran benefits. He has a place now and is sober.

Sometimes it's just a real gift to meet strangers. They give me more in satisfaction than I could have imagined!

I just keep quiet.

What a Q! We all have had that happen in our lifetime.

Glad of "the encounter" though 'cos I ended up married to him for over 30 years :)

A word of caution: Please exercise your common sense in all these instances, as strangers tend to be "charming".
