Why is an electrical outlet called an outlet when you plug things into it?!
Question: Shouldn’t it be called an inlet
Answers: Shouldn’t it be called an inlet
Because you have to plug it in to get it out!.... You don`t put it in to keep it in as his has to come out ( the power) I suppose an inlet is also an outlet as it is used for the same purpose. Like a garden hose!.. I could be wrong.
that's because electricity flows out of it
it is where you plug things in but from another point of view, it is where the main line branches OUT so it is available for your use...just my opinion though.. :)
Good question :)
because the power comes OUT of it
