When dining out, if you weren't happy with the food or service would you com!

Question: For me it all depends on how bad the service or food was. I try to be understanding toward the staff because they work hard and it is not an easy job,but if the waitstaff is blatantly rude or unacceptably slow, then I would complain quietly to the management. I only complain about the food if it is really horrendous.

yes

I mostly suck it up, and give a lousy tip.. Then, never eat there again!

The staff first

i would leave without paying...hasn't happen so far

I did not use to, but I sure DO NOW. I see no sense in paying for something you can not eat.

nfd?

Only if I wanted to eat the chefs spat up gollie or something similar. If the foods that bad, I would just not eat it.

I might send the food back if there were a big problem where i couldnt eat it, but no.
I wouldnt say anything, i'd more likely just b!tch about them to whomever i was dining with..

Management..because I waitress in a restaurant myself..and I know complianing to the management is the only way anything is going to be done about it, at least the correct way!

0<=)> Happy Holidays!

management for sure

no, cause it will spoil my holiday

No, if they ask me how it was I just tell them it wasn't very good but at least ther wasn't much of it, and never go back.

politely complain to the staff first see if they can fix things--if they can not correct problem then ask for management--this way if its not staffs problem it keeps them from looking bad to manager

If I'm not happy with the food I'd mention it to my wait staff, if I felt the food was really bad or mis-prepared I'd suggest I'd like to speak to the management. I'd never take it out on the wait staff.

yes its your right as a customer to complain about the services or food, cause you went into that place to enjoy the best that they can offer and if they failed to do that then its a problem, and you can demand a refund for your money or a reservice for your pleasure

Yes but I always wait until after I have eaten to complain or if the food isn't good send it back and leave because you hear too many stories about people tampering with food when it gets sent back!

When you go out and pay for food you are also paying for a service so there is not reason why the staff should be rude to you or why you should have to eat food if it isn't up to the standard you expect. You wouldn't buy something in a shop if it was broken would you?

Also I know that management like people to complain because if they don't know about a problem, how can they address and if possible fix it?

No reason to complain. Chances are if you had bad service. So have others. Your complaint will do as much good as the person before you. Thats why you had the same outcome. I usually just mark it on the list of restaurants to avoid and forget about it.

2 separate things to consider here.

If unhappy with the food, I complain first to the staff, as in the counter help or wait person. I believe that's protocol. If that fails to produce results, then the management.

If unhappy with the service of the staff, then straight to the management. The staff will never 'out' themselves for bad service, and your complaint about the way they did something will be concealed by them. So complaining to management is your proper and only recourse.

No. I just never go back to that establishment. There are so many more places to eat.

I used to be a waitress and a bartender so it would take something truly eggregious for me to complain to the manager because I know how it is. I would just leave a 10% tip (which is as close as I can bring myself to actually stiffing someone) and request not to be put in that section if I ever went back to the restaurant.

I don't call it complaining...you are actully doing them a favor. If you didn't tell them and then left the retaurant unsatisfied; well, that is bad for business if you spread the word about bad service. On the other hand, when they fix it right for you will spread that around and that is good business.

If I feel the waitstaff is not giving good service, I'll simply ask how their day is going. Sometimes, they don't realize they're not up-to-par. If they don't improve, then I talk to the management. I rarely return to a restaurant, or any business, that's given me bad service. I never return if I feel the management wasn't truly concerned with what I was saying.

When we spend our money, we deserve to be treated well.

I would complain to the staff first, they would probably get the manager...................

HELL YEAH! ID SAY SOMETHING LIKE "THE FOOD SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!"

Doubt it, would just never go back.
