I think you'd be foolish to assume that either rock or rap are going anywhere any time soon!.
I don't think genres will be dieing, at least any of the household name, kind of umbrella ones!. I think everything evolves, but that is certainly not dieing!.

No way is rock going out, it's just that the people who listen to it aren't on the news for killing people and so others tend to forget about it!. Plus with comeback albums from rock bands being released a lot recently (AC/DC, Guns 'n' Roses, Motorhead) it looks like it's re-rising!.
And someone who answered before me said that even younger people listen to it - couldn't agree more, I'm 15 and loads of people in my year at school love rock and metal!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
