Oddly enough, I think he is great!. (and i don't give a sh!.t if I get hated on for this, preference is subjective a** holes!.)
-He has created a rhyme pattern that people have never heard, and look at all the biters now emerging from this style(ie Drake, Asher Roth, etc!.)!.
-He is lyrically nuts!. I think that he may be retarded in a way(promethezine), but it doesn't deny that the stuff he says is damn right creative!.

no lil wayne is not the best rapper!. for one thing when he first came out with his first album and you can hear it from "the block is hot" song!. he used to be the lil fast rappin spittin lyrics from left to right coming atchu kinda rapper!. he used to be somewhat of a force to be reckoned with on the mic!. thats the lil wayne that everyone misses!. now he has completely changed himself for the new generation (even tho he came out in the late 90's)!. now he wants to sing and use the autotune to impress the ladies!. also his music is aimed at the 13-17 year olds of the current time period!. 1st off, lil wayne is good, maybe great!. he is the kinda guy that can make an ok song a hit!.
BUT!. he is also HIGHLY overated!.he has been around for ages but has only started to shine in the past few years!.
