Question: Is there such thing as Christian indie music!?
Something that sounds like Arctic Monkeys, The Libertines, OK Go, We Are Scientists, The Kooks or even The Pink Spiders, but is Christian!.
Just something upbeat and catchy!. I'll even settle for bands that are like Relient K, Everyday Sunday, or Hawk Nelson!.
Please, DO NOT recommend random Christian bands that you know!. I don't like metal!. So no Flyleaf, Family Force 5, Project 86, The Chariot or anything of the sort!. I like hardcore though, and if you want to tell me some besides obvious ones like Underoath, Norma Jean, Everytime I Die and The Devil Wears Prada!. However, my main interest is indie, punk, pop punk, soft rock, acoustic, piano rock etc!. Thanks!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

they don't classify themselves as Christian Rock per se, but their beliefs feed the themes of their music!.
also check out the song "King of Carrot Flowers" preferably all parts - but go with 2 and 3 if need be, by Neutral Milk Hotel!. One of my favorite bands, and one of the best albums ever (In the Aeroplane Over the Sea)!. Many argue over the meaning of the lyrics (whether Jesus is actually the object of his love) but the song can be read as a raw, open, honest expression of love - a central tenet of Christianity regardless of whether this is a love for Jesus, or a love of another!. Its open to interpretation, but singer/songwriter Jeff Mangum has a pretty strong core basis in Christianity!.
I'm not a Christian, and don't really like Christian rock - but I see the themes pop up in some of the music I listen to, and its interesting to add religion to the discussion of the themes of the music!. Religion can be a very powerful force in someone's life and any kind of passion can feed great music!. Its the bands that let themselves get pigeonholed as being entirely "Christian Rock" that I don't find nearly as engaging - it doesn't feel real - like its a way to make money!.
Look at Katy Perry!. Her first album was Christian Pop - now she's made an album entirely out of material that flies in the face of her initial work!. Neither seems rooted in any sort of true emotion - and ultimately fails because of that!. She's not an artist - she's an employee in a factory churning out meaningless drivel!.
