Can i connect a mic to a guitar amp?!
Question: Can i connect a mic to a guitar amp!?
i'm a total newbie when it comes to audio equpitment!. me and my friends are starting a band and i'm lead vocals!. i need to know what equipment to get!. i know i need a mic but after that i'm basically clueless!. can i just plug my mic into a regular guitar amp!? do i need to add a preamp, then connect to the amp!? is there some special type of amp for vocalists!? do i need a mixer!?

You want to be smart and spend the money with equipment that you need!. Don't waste your $$ too mickey mouse a rig where you can put your money to something that you really need!.
What you need is a PA system to start with!. this will cover your Mic inputs, guitar and speakers!.You can get a fairly good setup with out killing yourself!. You can even get used ones!. Got to be smart and patient!.
