Agony & Irony came at a vital point in the bands career - their major label debut!. I think the band did really well on this album!. You get a great opening track like 'Calling All Skeletons' with Matt's 2 second voice intro and a really catchy guitar riff throughout!. Then comes the rest - 'Over And Out' could become a firm fan favorite and one of the bands anthems, much like 'Radio'!.'I Found Away' and 'Love Love, Kiss Kiss' are more radio-friendly songs from the album, they could do well as singles if the record label see their brilliance!.
Compare this to older albums and it's not top, however!. 'Maybe I'll Catch Fire', 'From Here To Infirmary' and 'Goddamnit' are Alkaline Trio albums that made up their original fan base and I doubt it's going to get much better!.I do believe that 'Agony & Irony' is good and i still like 'Crimson' as well!.The polished sound on the record was something that would either go down well with fans or something that they'd hate!. People, overall, tend to like the sound (which was always something that was going to happen as they moved on to a major label)!. Matt's voice is still slightly husky and Dan sings superbly on his songs!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
