I think rap starts to sound poppy when the person "rapping" sings it more than raps it, and it's more catchy to sing, etc!. Kind of hard to describe!. I'm sure you know "Low" by Flo-Rida - that's pop rap!.
Here's what I felt about those songs:
1!. "Who's That Girl 09" - not so much pop as hip hop/rap
2!. "Barack Obama" - oh yeah that's definitely pop ;) The music and the chorus!.!.!.!.!.not sure how to explain it!. I still liked that song though! Pop isn't bad!
3!. "Don't Hate Me Cause I'm Sexy" - Kind of pop as well!. I love how it sounds!.
4!. "Don't Push Your Belief" - Interesting lyrics!. Liked it!. Not sure if it would be considered pop - maybe!.
"True" rap, to me at least, doesn't seem to have much (if any) singing - it relies more on the words!. Pop relies on catchy hooks/beats and singing!.
