It's more likely to see jazz played in larger cities or at a larger college campus because the audience is more defined as opposed to massive audiences for pop and rap groups!. But jazz is played by many truly talented musicians and is not an easy form of music to play!. You got to be good and know what you are doing!.

Seems to be in some places - Los Angeles unfortunately not being one of these places apparently based on that Peter Brotzmann once again JUST came and toured the USA and did not bother to come any further west than Texas!

You have to be kidding!. There are jazz clubs and organizations all over the world!. Traditional jazz will never die!. Look at the list of jazz stations available on the web for listening!.
