If you have a Gibson style guitar (2 volumes and 2 tones) then simply turn the upper volume down all the way!. Now your pickup selector switch will function as you wish!.
For strat style guitars this requires removing the pick guard an adding a switch to the circuitry before the out put jack!. It should not be attempted unless you are experienced at soldering and wiring guitars as this will void the warranty on the guitar!. You can use a dpdt or dpst (doble pole- double throw, or double pole -single throw )switch and wire the hot to the center lug and the out put to the jack on either side!. You can even use a "door bell " style switch to achieve a radical on/off staccato effect!. ONCE AGAIN don't attempt this unless you know what you are doing!!!Www@Enter-QA@Com
