Best Pink Floyd album?!
Question: Best Pink Floyd album!?
I already have all pink floyd cds, I've a been a hardcore fan for years!. But I can't figure out what's thier best album! Can someone explain what the best Pink Floyd album is!? And please, someone who actually knows pink floyd, not some random noob who thinks that the dark side of the moon is the best just becuase it sold the most!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

most people will tell you that dsotm is the best, but i personally always found the wall to be the best because of the story!.!.!.i think it's brilliant how waters and gilmour put together this collection of songs that fit so well together and tell such a great story in song, and it's totally unparalleled by any other album in historyWww@Enter-QA@Com
Well, it has to be the individual who determines which is the best Floyd album!. I personally think the best way to determine a best album is which album leaves you emotionally touched, filled with thought, and wanting more!.
That album for me is Meddle!. It has basically everything that makes Floyd amazing!. You have a collection of really eclectic songs that don't really seem to go together but works very well together none the less!. You have the hush lullaby of A Pillow of Winds and the harsher One of These Days!. And then it gets topped off with Echoes, which is the cumulation of everything Floyd is!.!.!. David and Rick's perfect vocal harmonies, Roger's bass and Nick's drums playing perfectly synchronized, David's mind blowing guitar solo and some of the best lyrics in a Floyd song!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

DSOTM! I've been a fan since the '60s!. I dropped plenty much acid then and always found P!.F!. amazing!. I was/am a Sid Barrett fan - not a "random noob"!. "Saucerful of Secrets" was my first fav!. I found/find "Animals", "Meddle", and "Wish" ("Wish You Were Here" is still and usually my fav P!.F!. song) my favs at different times!. My fav songs, albums, artists, solos, lyrics, etc!. change on a frequent basis!. When DSOTM came out, most of the "other" "cool" people who were grooving on P!.F!. became outraged and called it a sell-out!. I thought it was their best ever and since!. In this case best doesn't change!. I must say that I never have cared for "The Wall" (Gasp! Shriek!) - I find it boring and too repetitive!. That "The Wall" basic music running/reappearing throughout - Uggh! And the movie did nothing positive for me either!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
For me personally, the top 3 in some order are Dark Side (no I'm not a noob - come on, it's a great album regardless ), Animals, and The Wall!. If you put a gun to my head and made me pick just one, I'd probably go with Animals, but that might be because I play piano/keys and that album was Rick Wright's finest moment!. I also like Meddle a lot, and of course some of the stuff that they did after Waters left was pretty good, like Momentary Lapse and Division Bell!.
I'm not a big fan of the early Syd Barrett stuff, a little too experimental for my taste, but some Floyd fans swear by him!. I don't know, I guess it just comes down to personal preference!.

Dark Side of the Moon -and- Wish You Were Here BOTH live within easy reach on a daily basis!.!.!. and The Wall is absolutely amazing (esp!. love the Live in Berlin version which is not actually Pink Floyd!.!.!.) And then there's Meddle!.!.!.
So!.!.!. if I could only have ONE PF album for the rest of my life!.!.!. I don't know!. My first thought is Wish You Were Here, but then I immediately begin to 'miss' DSOTM!.!.!.!.
