Is Bass guitar the same as guitar basically just with low strings?!

Question: Is Bass guitar the same as guitar basically just with low strings!?
I'm asking because I've been playing guitar for a little while and my friend is going to start bass and was wondering if I could teach him!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Answers:
No, bass has less strings and the technique and style are usually different!. Instead of playing a lot of chords, like on an electric guitar!. You usually play one or two strings at a time on a bass guitar!. Not always but usually!. also, depending on what you want to make your bass sound like, you might slap and pull which is when you slap a string with your pinky and then pluck that same string with the thumb of the same hand!. Another thing to notice is that bass guitar usually doesn't require a pick, like electric guitar does!. You probably could teach your friend the basics until he gets a bass guitar!. But they are two different styles of play!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Bass is a completely different instrument, and has to be played differently!. On guitar, you play chords, on bass, you play one note at a time!. You can play chords on a bass!.!.!.!.!.but only rarely would you put it in a song!.!.!.!.as it can muddy up the song!. When you listen to music, try to listen to only the bass part!.!.!.!.!.!.and you'll get an idea of what I'm talking about!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Stylistically it's much different, and as those before me have said obviously less strings, you play it different with your left and right hands!. The left handed principle is different!. I'm a classically trained upright bassist, as well as bass guitarist!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
