Question: Adult contemporary hip hop!?!?!?!?
I was driving into work yesterday and I was listening to the radio, which is a rare thing for me due to the amount of music played that I dont listen to!. But my attention was caught with a topic that the radio personality was talking about!.
He was basically suggesting a 30+ catagory for artist who no longer apeal to the "main stream" consummer!. In this catagory there would be people like Jay-z, 50 cent, common, mos def, Kanye west, Snoop, Too short etc!.!.!.!.
The the basic idea was to create this new division in hip hop which would allow for new radio stations that appealed to a certain consumer, a new catagory at award shows etc

I think the category is cool but i think it should have more like !.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!. Rakim, Big daddy kane, Krs-One!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!. Ect!.!.!.!.!.!.!. I dont really think 50 could be put into that category he is still kinda new compared to the ones i listed!. and is still hot to the younger generation!.!.!.!. same with Kanye!. I think it would be awesome to have that type of radio station if im reading your statement correctly thats how i feel!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
There shouldn't really be a division in music at all!.!.!.Back in the early days of radio, stations played everything (mostly due to it being few stations) Ad companies are the reason behind the separations of genres and if you found in the future an "Adult Contemporary Hip hop" station, I can only wondered what would be marketed to that group (demographic)!.!.!.Bad idea to meWww@Enter-QA@Com

if you look at rock they have the "contemporary", "pop rock", "soft rock", whatever, but at the end of the day its all rock!.!.!. and they're *ALL* getting radioplay!.!.!. old school hip hop gets no radio play (except for at noon right!? lol)

it shouldn't be called "adult contemporary" if you want to separate it!. It should be called hip hop!. If anything needs to change it should be the new stuff that the mainstream puts out now!.
We really dont need to separate it at award shows either!. the industry just needs to recognize that album sales dont make a good rapper!.!.!.!.all the do is prove what is the most popular!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
