Yes, That Used To Happen To Me All The Time (Before I Started Dressing Different)
Just Ignore The Pathetic Chavs, They Have Mince For Brains, They Can't Accept That People Don't Always Like The Same Things Or Dress Pathetic Like Them.
Dress How You Want, Listen To What You Want, And Don't Let Anyone Else's Opinions Affect You!
You've Got To Ask Yourself, Is Their Opinion Really That Important To You?
I Know It's Annoying, But If You Let Them Know You Don't Care, They Will Stop.

Good Luck!

yes
It's not just being emo/rocker/indie kid/punk...
...if someone thinks you are different from them, they are frightened and show it in the ways that you mentioned above.
They are just insecure and don't have a satisfying life or else they would not even notice you so much.

I do not label myself, I look different every day, some outfits get attention and some don't.

I am female, black and I dress however I want (within the limits of my spiritual beliefs) so I know how it feels to be harassed for no reason.

Not really to be honest but I have had a random person walk by me and point at me whilst singing "I want to make sweet love to you" as it was a guy i was slightly scared!

It comes with the territory. Get used to it or conform.

a girl and her boyfriend where attacked over here in Britain last year August - The girl died. all because they were goths.

Wow, are you like eleven years old?
Eventually you'll figure out that to be taken seriously in this superficial world, you need to dress normal. Clothes, as much as you like to think, are not an expression of individuality, but rather conformity.
A few years ago I went out in black knee high platform lace-up boots, plaid miniskirt with ruffles and black lace, and tiny little tank top with sequins on it, and this man who was old enough to be my father tried to get me to go in his minivan. I always ran into these guys who made fun of me at the movie theatre. So yeah, it's just better to dress normal and blend in... your life will be a whole lot easier.
Edit: I meant to say the guys at the theatre USED to make fun of me. I dress in American Eagle, Abercrombie etc. now.

I don't dress any certain way. I'm not a poser. I love metal but you would never know by looking at me.

Learn how to spell, then i'll give you a straight answer.

Nope.

But as a hardcore MetalHead growing up in one of the worst black/latino gang towns in America, I got lots of crap for that.

Had to finallt start packing just to go to school. Got jumped a few times.... I can take care of myself..but 10 to 1 sucks no matter who you are.

All for wearing black clothes, dusterrs and long hair(Did this long before Goths showed up on the scene..... bunch of posers.....). Finally started to REALLY hurt some people, and made some friends with the Samoans and Latinos that were on my football team...and all the hassle stopped. Well...that and when the rumors started circulating that I had a 9mm on me.

Mind you...this was WAY pre-Columbine, and in retrospect, a bad idea. At the time. it was simple survival. Animals prowled the streets, and you had to defend yourself.

Anyhow...much like Rocco...nowadays, I dont feel the need to be a "Mass Conformnity" by dressing in a prescribed manner. LOL...I'm showing my individualism by dressing like everyother emo/goth....wtf ever.

It doesn't matter what you're into, there will ALWAYS be haters. I like Insane Clown Posse, Twiztid, bands like that. I'm always gettin hated on. It really does suck, but forget the haters. I'm a good person, that's all I need to get through my day. If they start mouthin' off to you about it, just agree with them about everything they say. It really annoys them. LoL!

Example:
People: She must be emo, she wants to kill her self.
You: Yeah you know, I really hope this bus gets here soon or my therapist is gunna be mad. Hope I don't have a relapse =]]

The reactions you get are amazing. lol

Not me personally but I know people who have
people are such asses

I'm with Rocco on this one. I listen to metal, industrial, goth-rock, neo-classical...very very dark music, and yet I wear loose-straight Levi's and polo shirts or just plain t-shirts and sometimes even a sweater. Clothes don't matter to me. If I want to express myself, I use art; it's why I've gotten my photography published and sold and same with my poetry.

It's a sad world when people have to resort to clothing to express their inner feelings. It just doesn't work.

seriously? this is a question.
I think you need to come in 2 todays times, some people are just jackasses
