Has the music that you listen had an effect your life?!

Question: I'll post a follow-up question once a few people have answered. (in a separate question not as an addition, so you don't have to check back to this question)

Yeah it really has

It's had an effect on my perception of things above anything
Every song contributes to the soundtrack of my life.

Some songs I listen to make me reminisce about good (and bad moments)

Some songs give me motivation, i really dont know how to explain it except to say that music is one of the most powerful things in my life

Im damn near involved in any aspect of music.

[EDiT]

I do sound production, Ive been singing for 11 years, I have not one but two ipods because I have so much music, I literally cant do anything without the presence of music

It's beautiful, it's visual, it's relaxing. . .dude there's nothing more to say

I don't think it really has had an effect on me. But, when I hear some songs they do bring back memories, some good and some bad.

Yes, It Has Effected How My Friends Look At Me Coz They Don't Listen To RHH Music, They Think I've Changed Coz I Dress More Like The Rappers I Listen To, I Want Them To Know That I Haven't Changed Inside Though, Like, I'm Still The Same Person Inside =/

There Has Also Been Some Times Where I Used To Get Down (Emotionaly) A Lot & Thought About Suicide A Few Times, But When I Put Those Earphones In, It Makes Me Think How Hard Things Were For Those Rappers & They Still Got They're Dreams Come True =]
Example:
Tupac (R.I.P)

yes, emotionally, mentally and physically

emotionally; i used to get beat up alot in school when i was younger and my musical tastes got a little sadder and more extreme. i liked nirvana, korn and alkaline trio.

mentally; today i listen to hip hop because it's intelligent (the artists i listen to are anyway) and i can relate (not to toot my own horn but... BEEP!). i love hip hop for the poetry, consciousness and the emotion.

physically; i spend about 4 hours a day (if im working) in RHH. this is getting ridiculous.

Music never had a negative effect on my life. Not only does it bring back memories like she said (good and bad) but some actually helped me go threw some hard times.

I suppose it's made me look at things differently

I'm an ex-gangbanger from the streets of Compton Cali... and i gotta be honest to this question.... i'm responsible for my own actions but i gotta admit that alot of the nonsense i did was influenced by the lyrics i listened to.... for example, before doing a jkack move, i used to like listening to Mc Eight "all fo' tha money"... or whenever it came time to get stripes, i'll be bumpin some of that eazy-e "straight off the mutha***en streets of compton" record... or tupac's ambitions as a rida...

i lived the life so i know what i'm talkin about...

it would be stupid if you listen to something like that, sing alongand yet, dont know what you're talking about, and thats what most of todays youth do... to me it's all fake and superficial.... i left that lifestyle alone along time ago... so there's my answer to your question... hope it helps...

yes cuz when i listen to a confident rapper it makes me more confident whenever im in a bad mood or feel depressed i can always pop in sum tupac keep ya head up and be feelin better.

A profound effect. Especially hip hop because it gives me a glimpse of the mentality of the people in which I identify with culturally. Hip Hop has taught me tolerance, understanding and empathy for people of color.
