Question: For one, look at each artist's catalog. Young has much more albums than Idol has put out. Then I would say which has stood the test of time?
Frankly, I enjoy listening to both artists, but I must admit I only listen to Idol when I want a good laugh.

You're not serious are you ? Neil has been an integral part of music history, from the sixties up until the present. It is laughable to compare him to Billy Idol.
both are very good but I like billy idol more
Billy did some great stuff in the 80s and was an appreciated alternative to the candy coated pop music (mostly) that was being churned out during that decade. But in terms of accomplishments and honors, Billy is not in the same league as Neil.
Possibly the most unlikely comparison that I've seen here yet, but I'll still answer with a resounding
NEIL YOUNG.
