I love them! Seen 'em live many times over the years, and most recently this past fall on their North American tour. It was a great show, because the album they were promoting this time around was a best of compilation titled 'Jethro Tull -The Best of the 70s' or something like that. So I knew that every song would be a classic that night!
Their musical style really seemed to change over the years, starting out as a late 60's blues hard rock band, then evolving into a progressive rock monster during the 1970's. I've always enjoyed every phase of Jethro Tull's career.

Some of my favorite songs are:
Minstrel in the Gallery
Back to the Family
With You There to Help Me
The Whistler
Wind Up
Queen and Country
For a Thousand Mothers
Dharma for One
Bouree
Locomotive Breath
Inside
Cross-Eyed Mary
Back-Door Angels
Thick as a Brick parts 1 & 2
A Passion Play parts 1 & 2
Black Satin Dancer
Heavy Horses
Love Story
Flyingdale Flyer
My God
Witches Promise
Fallen On Hard Times
Baker St. Muse
Nothing Is Easy
Songs From the Wood
To Cry You a Song
A New Day Yesterday

Their perfect balance of lyrical and musical content is unsurpassed. The two fit together so well, and to this day whenever I listen to any of their albums, I feel as though I've been transported to another time and place. I know that sounds silly to some, but very few bands have that ability with me. Captivating is one way of describing it I suppose.
If I had to pick a favorite album, it would be 'Stand Up'.

A fine band. Excellent musicianship. Martin Barre is an amazing player. Underrated too.

I love all of Thick as a Brick.

If you like them, you may also dig Fairport Convention.

love em!!!!!!!!

aqualung is my favorite song

amazing on vinyl.
cant pick a favorite song.

i'm a bouree fan

One of my 5 equal favourite bands!
What can I say?! You *know* I love them!

I love a whole selection of their discography, from the very beginning right up to some of their most recent releases.
Ian Anderson has to be one of the most underrated and overlooked songwriter / musicians in Rock, and as a self-taught flautist, he is amazing.

My 'favourite songs' could be a *very* long list!

The Witch's Promise
Bouree
Velvet Green
Alive and Well and Living In
Cat's Squirrel
The Minstrel in the Gallery
Dark Ages
Skating Away on the Thin Ice of the New Day
Rainbow Blues
Acres Wild
Inside
Pan Dance
Rover
Jack-in-the-Green
Broadsword
Budapest
Rare and Precious Chain
Locomotive Breath
Wounded, Old and Treacherous
Hunt By Numbers
Slipstream
Aqualung
A Song for Jeffery
amongst many others...!

I only like the songs "Living in the Past" & "Aqualung"! Apart from that, I found them bloody boring!

Very underrated. I bought Aqualung, and that is my username for many places (though, not here). Aqualung, the song, was an amazing opener with one of the best guitar solos I've ever heard by Martin Barre, an extremely underrated guitarist.

I've been thinking about getting either Thick As A Brick (their concept album) or Crest of a Knave (hey... it beat Metallica at the grammy's for best heavy metal performance.)

Remember, the flute... is a Heavy Metal instrument.

One of the best rock bands of the 70's...I loved the album Aqualung, it has some fantastic stuff on it, especially the title track.....Much underated like Wishbone Ash.

I was raised on JT. Now I think about being a kid riding in my mom's car with the windows down whenever I hear it. Good times.

My favorite song is The Rattlesnake Trail.

jethro tull are amazing... thats pretty much all that needs to be said.

One of my fav's. I don't think I could say one single song was my fav., but could tell you that Aqualung was my fav. album. All the material from the 70's was great though, I can't say to much about after that, because they didn't get much air play, but I'm sure that stuff is also good.

great band, I still love listening to locomotive breath on the radio

Timeless and truly great.

Really don't like them but to each their own. I know I have tastes that bug other people.

They're really cool. I love the flute and the lyrics are good.
I can't listen to them too much though.

So under rated and overlooked...Maybe because they would not compromise their songs for a top "ten" hit...Favorite albums...
Benefit
Aqualung
Stand up
This was...In no particular order...
