What band/singer do you dislike and why?!
Question: For me, it has to be, Hole.
It was music for psuedopunks. courtney love is not cool. hole is not cool. For me, hole was a thoughtless band. courtney love is a celebrity, but by no means was she a musician with anything beautiful or intellegent to say. she was an attention grubber, and a royalty grabber. That is the reason i think that she and hole were frauds and phoneys. Hole were not punk. hole were the noise obscuring real punk bands. hole were mediocre.
There are many who rock. there are many who do it with grace and style. and there are many who convey a powerful, meaningful message in their music. But not hole.

that said, what band do you dislike and why?
I have been deeply involved with the punk rock scene for about eight years now and love bands that do research on the social problems in our society and make a statement in their music.
However, I hate the bands that criticize the government when they don't know sh*t about what they're saying or have no solution for backing their opinions.
It seems that Greenday just jumped on the bandwagon to "hate" the government. And last time I saw Pennywise, they even said on their set that they criticize anyone who is in office. It's these bands that give the scene a bad connotation.
Madina Lake; Their music make me want to rip my ears from my head. The vocalist deserves to lose his larynx for his crimes against music.
Kiss; They were/are not particularly talented, in my opinion. They gained popularity because of their over the top [and frankly, hideous] aesthetics and stage presence. Their music is mediocre, they are possibly one of the most overrated bands in history.
nickleback. i don't know why. their music just pisses me off for some reason.
I HATE Shania Twain it's soo anoying and bubbly.
panic at the disco. they seem awfully fruity to me
all the typical boy bands because they are basically copying each other ex. Fall out Boy, plain white t's etc.

I second the nickelback answer. Reminds me too much of the 90's move toward psuedo country/bluegrass ......didnt like it then either.
Nickleback - country and rock should NEVER be combined! Country is the worst genre ever and the many genres of rock are the best! Coutnry and rock crossovers have an appropriate nickname - cock
All American Rejects - sell outs and considered Hardcore rock by only the preppiest of the preppys
and last but not least, Hannah Montana and the Jonas Brothers. I have the whole week off and I still don't have enough time to write why i hate them ever so much.
I would have to say Westlife, i don't hate them but they REALLY annoy me with every song they'll be sitting on stools then come the chorus and they stand up, or they'll be standing then come the chorus they move forward sooooooooooo annoying, not my sort of music either, pop pap ;o)
Its from the 90's but Gavin Rossdale from Bush - I have to turn the channel if they come on. Just can't stand his voice.
Axl Rose. He screwed up G&R's. He continues to blow it currently by having a CD that was supposed to be released a few years ago that has yet to be released. Thank goodness for Velvet Revolver.

avril lavigne - one of the biggest posers. is a sell out but making extremely annoyingly songs eg girlfriend, has no talent eg bad lyrics and fake music (she's just yelling and talking the whole way). has a fake personality/style, music is overrated by a lot of people and radio, is a ****** (cuz someof her songs talk about snatching other ppl's bfs)
the veronicas - very overated band (hmm maybe i shud hate the media for overating them lol), are sell outs as well u no make really annoyingly catch songs (i dont get addicted at all) are one of the worst lyricists, can't sing or rap properly so basically just talking and crap singing.
gwen stefani - her music is just plain annoying

I liked 'Jagged Little Pill' by Allanis Morisette when I first heard it in the mid 90s. But in the decade since then I've found found her lyrics more and more to be just one long self-centred whine e.g.
"I'm a b*tch, I'm a lover
I'm a child, I'm a mother
I'm a sinner, I'm a saint
I do not feel ashamed
I'm your hell, I'm your dream
I'm nothing in between
You know you wouldn't want it any other way".
I probably wouldn't mind these sort of lyrics so much except that so many women seem to think these are words to live by rather than just a poem about one person's sense of confusion and entitlement. Morissette as a role model is almost as bad as Courtney Love, and that's saying something!
