Its current status remains publicly unknown. In January 2008, rumors arose that Chinese Democracy had been handed over to Geffen Records, but had been delayed because the label and Rose couldn't agree on the marketing of the album. However, in a February 2008 interview with Classic Rock Magazine, Rose's personal manager, Beta Lebeis, debunked Trunk's suggestion and was quoted as saying "we're currently in negotiations with the record label".
They are waiting for democracy in China before releasing it.

Hey, look at it this way, since it's taking so long, they might be putting a lot of time and effort in it, if that's true, then you should be glad. Good things come to those who wait.
the best thing to do is stick to old GnR. I honestly don't think we will see this album anytime soon. I just wouldn't hold my breath waiting for it to come out. I stopped paying attention to all the rumours months ago. I could be wrong on this but by the time it does come out I ust don't think it will sell worth a damn because people have lost interest in the album.
I think u should stick with the old GNR.The new band just doesn't cut it for me...................
Maybe if Axl "Whiney" Rose would stop stomping his feet, having his hissy fits and get his head out of his butt, we might actually see this mythical album. I'd like to just see the ORIGINAL GNR line-up get back together with a mature lead singer and get some good music cranking out again. Let Axl sit in the naughty chair and pout. He broke up a good band.
I heard it would be December of 2008. However I don't think it actually will be. I personally do not think it will ever be released.
Axl will be over 90 years old before he releases that, whats he doing making one song per 5 years,??>
