Bruce Springsteen or Bruce Hornsby?!

Question: Which "BRUCE" do you prefer and why?

Answers: Which "BRUCE" do you prefer and why?

Apples and Oranges, my friend... the two Bruce's are VERY different is style.... Springsteen rocks, and has that whole rough-boy-Jersey thing going on, very cool, very rock and roll.... Hornsby is more melodic and boarders on smooth rock/jazzy sound.
Do I have to choose? Can't I enjoy both, when ever that mood hits me?
I would say the Boss will always be The BOSS... and Hornsby will always be 'the other Bruce'... but like I say, it's all just Apples and Oranges, yes it is... apples and oranges...

springsteen...his concerts are way better and his albums have gotten consistently better...although i hear hornsby can perform a pretty mean dunk on the b-ball court...

Springsteen

dont know who hornsby is but the boss is a legend so im gona say him. love the song dancing in the dark and his new stuff is okay too

Springsteen..... Even now he looks so much better than Bruce Hornsby!
That's just the way it is ;-)

I go for Bruce Hornsby

The Boss.

I don't know who Bruce Hornsby is.

Springfield, just for "Tougher than the rest"

Springsteen

Both great artists but Springsteen wins hands down for consistency of brilliant songs, changing over the the years from the angry young man from New Jersey of the early 70's through the changes in his life, classic albums both with the E Street band and solo and absolutely outstanding live performances. I've seen them both live - Bruce Hornsby was a good laugh and is hugely talented, getting the audience to write the names of songs they wanted him to play and throw them on the stage - even performing songs that weren't his... but you can't beat the Boss for entertainment..... rock and roll legend.

springsteen, i seen him 2 times in the early 80's

Different Indfference is right. The similarities end after their first name. You may as well throw Bruce Dickinson in there to add a third genre.

I do prefer Springsteen, however, because he is a master songwriter, who is every bit as good a story teller as Dylan.

Bruce Springsteen has had some higher watermarks in his career (NEBRASKA comes to mind) and overall is more consistent but piano man Hornsby's had some albums that are well worth your time, too. NIGHT ON THE TOWN and HOT HOUSE come to mind....

Basically, Springsteen is better lyrically...but Hornsby can write rings around Springsteen in the musical department...lots of jazz influence in his stuff particularly post-Range.

SHORT ANSWER: Springsteen is better...but Hornsby isn't chopped liver either

springsteen
