The three bands that have most influenced me in the past couple years (and that I very highly reccommend!) are:

1. Chiodos - They have amazingly arranged music, are fantastic in concert, and to top it all off, their lead singer has an amazing vocal range and is very sexy to boot! Suggested CD: All's Well That Ends Well CD/DVD edition.

2. The Fall of Troy - I first heard them on Guitar Hero 3 (the song FCPREMIX) and was instantly hooked. Probably because I play guitar as well, I found it amazing that these intricately made guitar riffs and intense melodies were coming from just a 3-man group! Suggested album: Doppelganger

3. Ingrid Michaelson - This is a dramatic change in music, whereas the previously mentioned bands border somewhere between hardcore/emo/screamo, Ingrid Michaelson is kind of indie. I first heard her on the second season of Grey's Anatomy, via her song "Corner of your Heart", most of her songs are so sweet they'll leave you with a musical toothache that you will definitely be greatful for. Suggested album: "Boys and Girls".

I hoped this helped! Good luck with finding some awesome good music!
