Deftones. I just started listening to them about a year ago. A little depressing, but excellent music.
I'd have to say Queen because I properly discovered them 2 years ago. I adore their music and it's made me appreciate more classic music, rather than things that come and go nowadays
Talking Heads about 6 months back.

If you mean a difference in my "musical perception" then i suppose the Dresden Dolls. If you mean that made a difference "in the world" then i suppose Chumbawumba...They sold one of their songs to a Car company so it could be used in the Company's commercials, and then turned around and used the money to raise awareness of the dangers of car gasoline emissions on the environment.
