Question: Ok, I'm 14 and i'm in this choir, and i have to sing Whitney Houstons I WIll Always Love You. It sounds ok, but theres a problem, i can only sing good in high notes, i struggle in normal voice and lower pitches. The choir won't help, so how can i achieve this myself?

Well, if your like me, and really had about no confidence, (beleive me i couldnt sing in front of anybody), all you really need to do is start singing in front of people you are comfortable with, but start off as like your joking around, cuz then theyll start singing with you. Then of course you will start getting more confident and people will realize that your actually good. And if you ever get nervous singing in front of anybody, the most important element is your breathing. If you breathe well deep into your lower area, those nerves really wont have any place to go but away. And while singing, HAVE FUN WITH IT! Being comfortable is VERY important. And as for the choir thing, all I can really say is do warm-ups that are for like Altos and keep practicing, and practicing. Then your range will get wider. =]

start off singing quietly around them when music is playing, and get louder when you get more comfortable.

Keep practicing is really all you can do. Or get a voice coach. And I totally know how you feel about singing around your parents, its the same with me. But I guess you just have to kind of get over it and just do it.
