The Ataris, Resident Hero, Love me Electric, Kings to You, Forever Wings Fold, Silverstein, Paramore, The Academy Is, Jack's Mannequin, Mayday Parade, Circa Survive, Thrice, The Rocket Summer, A Sharp Fiction Ending, Boys Like Girls, Powerspace, Bright Eyes, Camera Obscura, Damien Rice, Filter, Finch, Feeder, Hard-Fi, The Get-up Kids, Griffing House, Ima Robot, Louis XIV, The Hives, The Hollywood Undead, The Kooks, The New Amsterdams, Nightmare of You, The Pigeon Detectives, Sherwood, Smile Empty Soul, The Sounds.

I would say, given the bands you listen to that Circa Survive, Thrice, Feeder, Silverstein, Finch, Sherwood, Filter, maybe the Ataris, Ima Robot, Nightmare of You, Hollywood Undead

I also think you should buy the magazine AP every now and again - they've always got new bands like the ones you're looking for, and they're usually pretty unknown. Either way, good luck with your knowledge quest.

I'm going to be going in the more Classic Rock era, but there are a few not many people knew of.

Tim Curry, for one. He had a successful career as a rock musician in the 70's and early 80's. His stuff is hard to find, though. If you'd like to hear some, I can give you my email and shoot you some.

The Moody Blues. They had a few really good albums. I'd definately suggest "On the Threshold of a Dream" if you'd look into them.

Bonnie Tyler. She's known for one song, called "Total Eclipse of the Heart", but the album it's off of is amazing. Check out her album "Faster Than the Speed of Night".

Those are the only three I can think of at the moment.
