here's a little trick i picked up from a helpful friend.
if you can find the song on, say, youtube for example, copy the URL of the page (the address up top). then go to zamzar.net and choose "download video." just paste in the URL, choose to convert the file to mp3, put in your email address and it'll be sent right to you! then you just download the mp3 from the email they send you, and it's there on your computer to do whatever you want with.
(it usually takes a couple hours to be emailed, though, in my case.)
