How to do vibrato on my violin?!

you have to shake your fretting hand to where your finger is sort of rolling back and forth on the string. it's hard to TELL someone how to do this. It's much easier to SHOW. Ask your music teacher. I'm POSITIVE that he or she would be more than happy to show you the proper technique to vibrato a note. If you're not taking lessons, perhaps you should consider it. There's ALWAYS something worth learning.
If you don't have a tutor, I suggest not trying to do it on your own. If you learn incorrectly, it could cause irrepairable damage and hinder your ability to expand your vibrato techniques. There are many different types of vibrato, so you can't just learn one.
If you don't have a tutor, don't start doing it. You will greatly regret it later in life.

If your teacher doesn't want to teach you how to do vibrato, it's for a reason. Vibrato shouldn't be tried unless you are in an advanced level, not begginer. The fact that you are a little more advanced than your classmates doesn't mean that you're ready to do vibrato. It's a hard, and difficult process, and if it's not learned properly, it may ruin your chances to do other vibrato techniques.
