i think ppl are getting confused between what should be happening and what actually is happening.
I buy...... lupe is a good example but also look at common... his last 3 albums were wack but since he's one of the few "alternative" rappers in the mainstream thats what he's getting lauded for, when actually his first 4 albums were of MUCh higher quality.

Sell. I live in the south (texas) and many people think anything to the left sucks(as in not talking about jewelry,making it rain, or has a dance ) since it doesn't sound like what they are use to hearing. (not all the people here but alot think this way)
I sell. Just because the industry might be in disarray, that is not a license for acts to come wack. You still have to earn respect, you still have to know how to rock a crowd, you still have to be dope. There is plenty of so called underground or experimental stuff that is garbage.
This may seem true in a lot of cases, but it's not. Though some of the material being released may be on top for a while, something can only be seen as great if people still recognize it after many years. Otherwise, they're just having their 15 minutes of fame.
I buy. For example: Lupe Fiasco is a great rapper but he isn't a top 25 rapper despite what people say. These days if anything is good it's classic. And if it's average it's good. And if it's bad it's average. You get the picture.
