Is it REALLY possible to improve a 'bad' singing voice? If so, what'!

Question: First off, I'm not one of those crazy-horrible Idol contestants you see on TV. (You won't see me up there, belting it out, because I know I can't) However, I don't think I'm absolutely horrible, either. I've been complimented a few times (most recently by a kindergarten teacher I student taught with), which makes me wonder if I could work on improving what I've got.

I'm not looking to be the next Celine Dion, or anything. I just want to be less worried about the way I sound, so that I can sing with my family around the campfire.

So, is it possible? Or is it too late? How do I get started, if it is possible? I'd imagine the best approach is to start off with small, kiddie songs like Old Macdonld, or something, but what do I know?

Thanks ;)

The voice doesn't actually mature until 30 bet you didn't know that.. so you have plenty of time, its a matter of practice, some people are naturals but alot of people have to work really hard at becoming good.
Find yourself a great singing teacher and make a go of it, its not too late :)

If you want to get better all i can say is sing. Sing all the time! Try some vocal excercises and see what you can do. Try singing in different pitches and sing songs for your area. Soprano, alto, barratone, tennor, sometimes youd be surprised. Maybe even try working w/ a vocal coach.

I would suggest taking singing lessons.

it's not impossible but it is very difficult. you must go thorugh vocal training and preformance training.

hope i helped!
